Jewelry tree

I have been dying to show you something for a while now; I got the most beautiful homemade present for Christmas from my boyfriend (Not that I wasn’t spoiled with presents already J), but it was not quite finished, so he had to spend some more time on it before I could take it home. And now, in between exams, he has finished it!!!

Let me present my new jewelry tree

Look at the little swing, so adorable! …. I will try to find a tiny dark-haired doll (indicating me of course) to swing on it!

Just love it!

I am very lucky that I have such an amazing boyfriend, he has spend many hours making this for me, so many that he will not make any replicate, although he will share the information of how he did it.

Now I have order in my earrings!

Sometimes I just have an idea and sometimes he brings that idea into life, so great!

There are of course many ways to store/contain your jewelry. Mivs received this tree as one of her Christmas presents

It is from Menu and you can find it here. It is very different from mine but still a very nice piece that can lighten up the room.

Another jewelry hanging devise that I have found very interesting is this Camshaft that Tina from A knitting chick has transformed into a really cool piece!

She has also made it herself and you can see how she did it here. This is a really nice board, which does not seem that complicated (as least to me) to make and you can make your own personal touch with your own version.

How do you store your jewelry?

Flower rings

I have made these rings with two buttons that suited my style. While one is feminine the other one is a quite bigger and almost a statement ring, but I really like it!

Most people that know me, know that I am very good in criticizing my own work, althouht most of the time without no rational reason, which often leads too a result that I am quite surpriced by.

However, I hope that I will learn not being so focused on what I cannot do and rather look at what I can do!
A study conduted in Norway in 2009 found out that being creative increases your self-efficacy; which is your beliefs in your own capabilities to organize and execute the courses of action (A concept presented by Albert Bandura in his Social cognitive theory).

So there is no reason not being creative and perhaps change your own self perception :D

The difference between want and should !

Just a little hello from me, Ditte. I am studying for an exam at present time, therefore no creative post from me at the moment. However I was just reading about multiple selves in decision making processes and how human beings have internal conflicts between what they want to do and what they think they should do, which indicates that humans have a want self and a should self….

That pretty much describes my situation at the moment:

I want to start new creative projects such as:

Learn how to crochet (by learn by doing…. Family members have already tried various times)

Make new necklaces

Make felt birds

 

But I should:

Read the 2000 (or something like that) pages syllabus for my Economic Psychology exam

Prepare for the (VERY EVIL) multiple choice test I will be presented with in the exam situation

Prepare for the case I will be presented with in the exam situation
